While Leadpages has a dedicated checkout widget integrated with Stripe for selling products or subscriptions on your pages, you may already have a store built with Shopify. In that case, there are a few ways to use Shopify with Leadpages.
Use a Shopify Buy Button
To get started using a Shopify Buy Button in Leadpages, you will need to first add the Buy Button sales channel to your Shopify admin. Add the channel by following Shopify's guide here: Adding the Buy Button sales channel
Create a Shopify Buy Button
Next, you’ll need to create a “Buy Button” in Shopify. You can learn how to create one in their guide here: Creating a Buy Button.
Add your button to a page
Once you’ve created a “Buy Button” in Shopify, it’s time to add it to your page.
To add your button to a page or pop-up, follow these steps:
- Copy your button’s HTML code according to Shopify's guide above.
- Add an HTML widget to your page or pop-up, then paste the code from Shopify into the widget. Make sure to click Save on the HTML widget before you publish or update your page.
It’s a good idea to test your button out. One way to do so is to use your button as a customer would, then issue yourself a refund from within Shopify.
Track purchases
Our built-in analytics aren’t designed to track conversions on third-party buttons like those from Shopify. However, there are a few options you can consider using to track how many people purchase your product.
One option is to use a third-party analytics platform. Many popular options allow you to track custom events on pages. Please note, however, we cannot provide support for modifying third-party code. To learn more about using third-party tracking code, check out our guide here: Third-party tracking and analytics
Use Leadpages buttons
If you would rather not create Shopify Buy Buttons, you could make things a bit easier on yourself by linking your Leadpages button widgets to your Shopify store or checkout link.
To use Leadpages buttons and direct your traffic to Shopify, have your Shopify store URL handy, or create a checkout link using Shopify's guide here.
Link your Leadpages button to Shopify
Once you have your Shopify URL, it's time to link your button on your page to Shopify.
- Copy your Shopify store or checkout link in Shopify.
- Add a button widget to your page or pop-up.
- As you hover over the button, click Add Click Event. Or, if it is an existing button, click on the button, then select the Click Event action.
- Choose Link to an external URL.
- Paste your Shopify link, and make sure to update/publish your page.
Track purchases
Similar to what is noted above when embedding a Shopify Buy Button, our built-in analytics aren’t designed to track conversions on third-party platforms like Shopify, as once a user leaves your page, Leadpages is not able to track the purchase or non-purchase that happens in Shopify.
Another option would be to use our button widget's option to count a click on the button as a conversion inside of Leadpages. Although this does not mean that the visitor purchased after being directed to your Shopify link, it is a way you can track how many people have clicked on the button.
