Ad Studio v2 can turn a short brief into a finished video ad. Instead of generating a video in one step, the process moves through a few stages, and you review and approve the work at each stage before it continues: a seed image, a storyboard, and finally the film.
Overview of the stages
A video ad moves through the following stages, in order:
Seed - a still image that establishes the look of the ad: the product, the setting, and (for UGC ads) the creator who will appear in it.
Storyboard - a short sequence of shots built from the seed, each with its own caption and camera motion, telling a simple story across the ad (for example, a hook, a build, and a payoff).
Film - the storyboard is rendered into an actual video clip and stitched together into the finished ad.
Each stage stops and waits for you. Nothing moves to the next stage until you approve what's in front of you, so you always know what you're paying for before you pay for it.
Choosing product or UGC
When you start a video ad, you choose the style you want:
Product - the ad focuses on your product itself, adapted to your brand's colors and style.
UGC (user-generated content style) - the ad features a creator holding or using your product, in the style of an everyday customer video.
For UGC ads, Ad Studio casts an AI-generated creator to appear in your ad. This creator is generated from a description rather than based on any real person's photo, so the same creator can appear consistently across every shot without using anyone's actual likeness.
Reviewing your seed
The seed is the first thing Ad Studio v2 generates from your brief. It's a single image showing your product (and, for UGC ads, your creator) in the style your ad will use.
Review the seed and either:
Accept it to move on to the storyboard stage, or
Ask for changes so a new seed is generated before you continue.
Generating and revising the seed doesn't use any ad credits - credits are only charged once you get to the film stage.
Reviewing your storyboard
Once you accept a seed, Ad Studio v2 builds a storyboard: a small number of shots, each with its own caption and camera motion, that tell a simple story across the ad. Later shots reuse the same set and props established in earlier shots so the ad feels like one continuous scene rather than a series of disconnected images.
Review the storyboard and either accept it to move on to the film stage, or ask for a different cut before continuing. As with the seed, reviewing and revising the storyboard doesn't use any ad credits.
Generating the film
The film stage is where your storyboard becomes an actual video clip. Before it starts, Ad Studio v2 shows you a quote — how many credits the film will cost, based on the number of shots and the resolution you've chosen — so you can decide whether to proceed. Credits are only reserved and charged at this stage.
Once you confirm, each shot is rendered and the shots are stitched together into a single finished video. Generating a film can take several minutes, especially for longer or higher-resolution ads.
In some cases, the video is generated without a soundtrack. This can happen when the requested background music can't be verified as free of copyright concerns; if that happens, the affected shot is rendered silently rather than failing outright, and the rest of the ad renders normally.
Finding your finished video ad
Once a film finishes rendering, it appears alongside your other outputs in the ad set. You can preview and download it like any other generated asset in your project.
