Overview

The Leadpages WordPress plugin lets you serve your Leadpages landing pages on your WordPress site's own domain. There are no DNS changes, no copying and pasting code, and no separate hosting to manage. Once the plugin is connected, you pick a page in your Leadpages account, assign it to a WordPress URL slug, and it goes live on your WordPress domain.

This article covers the plugin built for the new Leadpages platform. If you're a Classic Leadpages customer with the older plugin already installed, see the Migrating from the Classic WordPress plugin section at the bottom. The short answer is that your existing setup keeps working.

What the plugin does

The plugin acts as a bridge between WordPress and your Leadpages account. When a visitor requests one of your landing pages at a WordPress URL (for example, yourdomain.com/launch), the plugin fetches the latest published version of that page from Leadpages and serves it on your WordPress domain in real time.

A few things worth knowing:

You publish once, in Leadpages. There's no separate "publish to WordPress" step. Any time you republish the page in the Leadpages editor, visitors see the update immediately, with no need to touch WordPress.
The page keeps all its Leadpages features. A/B tests, forms, integrations, tracking pixels, and analytics all work exactly the same as they do on a Leadpages-hosted URL.
The URL belongs to you. Visitors see your WordPress domain in the browser bar. Search engines and social platforms see your domain as the canonical URL.

Requirements

Before you install the plugin, make sure you have:

Admin access to your WordPress site
At least one published page in your Leadpages account

Installing and connecting the plugin

In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New.
Search for Leadpages, then click Install Now on the official Leadpages plugin.
Click Activate.
In the left-hand WordPress menu, click Leadpages.
Click Connect to Leadpages. You'll be redirected to Leadpages to sign in.
Sign in to your Leadpages account and click Authorize on the consent screen.
If you have access to more than one Leadpages account (for example, as an agency), choose the account you'd like to connect.

You'll be returned to WordPress, and the plugin will confirm the connection. You only need to do this once per WordPress site.

Assigning a Leadpages Page to a WordPress URL

In your WordPress admin, go to Leadpages → Add New Page.
Select the Leadpages page you'd like to serve from the dropdown.
Enter the WordPress URL slug where the page should appear — for example, launch will make the page live at yourdomain.com/launch.
Click Publish.

Your landing page is now live on your WordPress domain. Visit the URL in a new browser tab to confirm.

To assign additional pages, repeat the steps above. You can serve as many Leadpages pages as your plan allows.

Updating a published page

Because the plugin fetches your page from Leadpages on every visit, you don't need to do anything in WordPress when you make changes. Just edit and republish the page in the Leadpages editor, and visitors will see the update the next time they load it. You can purge your Wordpress cache if stubborn changes are not taking effect.

Removing a page

To stop serving a Leadpages page on your WordPress site:

In your WordPress admin, go to Leadpages → Pages.
Find the page you want to remove and click Delete.

This removes the WordPress URL only. Your Leadpages page itself is not affected and remains available in your Leadpages account.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to change my DNS or point my domain at Leadpages? No. The plugin serves pages through your existing WordPress site, so your domain setup doesn't change.

Will my Leadpages page URL affect my WordPress SEO? Your WordPress URL is treated as the canonical URL for the page. Search engines and social share previews will use your WordPress domain, not the Leadpages URL.

Can I use A/B testing, popups, and integrations on pages served through the plugin? Yes. Every Leadpages feature works the same on a WordPress-served page as it does on a Leadpages-hosted URL.

Can I edit the Leadpages page from inside WordPress? No. Editing happens in the Leadpages editor. WordPress is only used to choose which pages appear at which URLs.

What happens if I deactivate the plugin? Any Leadpages page assigned to a WordPress URL stops serving at that URL. Your Leadpages pages themselves are unaffected; reactivate the plugin and they'll come back.

Can I use the plugin on multiple WordPress sites? Yes. Install and connect the plugin on each site separately. Each connection is independent.

Does the plugin work on WordPress Multisite? Yes. Install and connect the plugin on each site in your network individually.

Can I serve a Leadpages page at my WordPress homepage? Yes. Use an empty slug or configure the plugin's homepage setting to route your root URL to a Leadpages page.

Troubleshooting

The "Connect to Leadpages" button doesn't do anything, or I get an error signing in. This is usually caused by a WordPress plugin or security tool blocking the OAuth redirect. Try temporarily disabling security or firewall plugins (such as Wordfence, iThemes Security, or All In One WP Security), then try connecting again. Also confirm your WordPress site is running over HTTPS.

My landing page shows a 404 at the WordPress URL. Go to Settings → Permalinks in your WordPress admin and click Save Changes (you don't need to change anything, just resave). This refreshes WordPress's URL rewrite rules so it can route the slug to the plugin.

Images or fonts aren't loading on the page. This is usually a caching plugin serving a stale copy of the page. Clear your WordPress cache (and your CDN cache, if you use one), then reload the page in a private browsing window.

Changes I made in the Leadpages editor aren't showing up. Make sure you clicked Publish in the Leadpages editor after making changes. Saving alone doesn't update the live page. If you're still seeing an older version, clear your WordPress and CDN caches, then reload in a private window.

The plugin says my Leadpages plan doesn't support WordPress publishing. The WordPress plugin is available on paid Leadpages plans only. If you're on a trial or free plan, you'll need to either end your trial or upgrade to Grow, Optimize, or Scale to enable it.

I don't see one of my Leadpages pages in the dropdown. Only published Leadpages pages appear in the plugin. Publish the page in the Leadpages editor and refresh the WordPress admin screen.

I connected the wrong Leadpages account. In the WordPress admin, go to Leadpages → Settings and click Disconnect, then reconnect and choose the correct account.

Migrating from the Classic WordPress plugin

If you were using the Leadpages WordPress plugin on Classic Leadpages, here's what to expect on the new platform:

Your existing plugin will continue to work. Classic pages you're already serving through the plugin keep serving as before. You don't need to reinstall or reconnect anything to preserve what's already live.
New Leadpages pages use the same plugin. Once you sign in to your migrated account through the plugin, you'll be able to assign both your migrated Classic pages and any pages you build on the new Leadpages platform to WordPress URLs.
Your WordPress URLs stay the same. Any slugs you've already configured continue pointing to the same pages after migration.
No settings to reconfigure. Your OAuth connection, page assignments, and homepage setting all carry over automatically.
