[HTMLPub] Giving the AI Editor Visual Context in the Editor Chat

Last Updated

The AI Editor chat panel accepts images alongside your text prompts, allowing the AI to see exactly what you are describing. You can capture a full screenshot of your builder, select a specific region, or upload existing images from your library or device.Capturing the Editor as a Screenshot

Capturing the Editor as a Screenshot

A camera icon sits in the chat input toolbar next to the image-attach button. Clicking it immediately captures what is visible in the editor viewport and attaches the result as a PNG chip above the input field.

To capture only part of the page, hover the camera icon to reveal a small popover with two options:

  • Viewport — captures everything currently visible in the editor (the default single click).

  • Region — lets you drag a rectangle over the editor to capture only that area.

Selection outlines are automatically cleared before capture so they do not appear in the image the AI receives.

Attaching Images from Your Library or Device

Use the image-attach button (picture-frame icon) in the chat toolbar to pick an image from your asset library or browse your device. You can also drag an image file from your computer and drop it directly onto the chat input, or paste an image from the clipboard with Cmd+V (Mac) / Ctrl+V (Windows).

Image Limits

  • Up to 5 images can be attached to a single message.

  • Images are automatically resized to fit the AI's vision requirements before sending.

  • Once you send the message, the chips clear and you can attach a fresh set for your next prompt.

Tips for Better Results

  • Screenshot the section you want changed, then describe the change — for example: "Make the hero text larger and center-aligned."

  • Use Region capture to isolate a single component (a button, a card, a navigation bar) when the full viewport would include unrelated content.

  • Combine a screenshot with a text description for the most precise instructions — the AI uses both.
