Overview
HTMLPub automatically tracks visitor behaviour on all your published pages — no third-party scripts or configuration required. The Analytics section gives you an account-wide view of performance, with the ability to drill down into individual pages.
The Analytics Dashboard
Go to Analytics in the left sidebar. At the top, choose a time range: 7 days, 14 days, or 30 days.
Metrics Explained
- Views — Total number of page loads across all your pages in the selected period.
- Unique Visitors — Number of distinct visitors, identified by a session cookie. A visitor who views multiple pages counts once.
- Sessions — Number of visits. A new session starts when a visitor arrives after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- Avg Scroll — The average scroll depth across all page views, expressed as a percentage of page height. A value of 75% means visitors scrolled three-quarters of the way down on average.
- Form Submissions — Total number of form submissions received from all pages.
- Conversions — Tracked conversion events on your pages.
Daily Traffic Chart
The Daily Traffic chart shows views over time for the selected period, making it easy to spot traffic spikes or drops.
Top Sources
The Top Sources panel shows where your visitors are coming from — direct, search, social, referral, and so on — as a percentage of total views.
Devices
The Devices panel breaks down traffic by device type: desktop, mobile, and tablet. Use this to understand how your pages are being viewed and whether your layouts need to be optimised for mobile.
Per-Page Analytics
Click View by page (top right of the Analytics dashboard) to see a ranked list of all your pages with individual metrics. Click any page to open its detail view, which includes:
- Views, unique visitors, sessions, avg scroll, form submissions, and conversions for that specific page.
- A daily traffic breakdown.
- Source and device breakdowns specific to that page.
- A click heatmap and scroll depth visualisation showing exactly where visitors are engaging on the page.
You can also reach a page's analytics from the Pages list by clicking the bar chart icon on any page row.
How Tracking Works
HTMLPub injects a lightweight tracking script into every published page automatically. The script captures:
- Page views on load
- Scroll depth at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%
- Element clicks for heatmap data
- Form submissions
If you are the page owner and view your own page while signed in, your visits are not counted — owner views are automatically excluded from analytics.
